Inga is a marine biologist and co-founder of Cold Current Kelp, a kelp farm and skincare company in Kittery. Inga will talk about what led her to kelp farming and starting her business with co-founder Krista Rosen, how ocean farming helps the environment, why kelp is such a powerful natural ingredient, the company’s ongoing research, and the potential of kelp and ocean farming for the future.Inga’s life-long love of the ocean began during early childhood summers on Nantucket Island. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of New Hampshire in 2010 studying the ecology of large oceanic fish. She has collaborated with scientists all over the world in her research and has enjoyed teaching biology and environmental science to students of all ages and backgrounds. Inga’s environmental science background first drew her to the many benefits of kelp farming.
