Advanced Beginning German

This course is a continuation from last semester. Previous experience necessary or teacher approval.

Form a strong base in conversational German as all aspects of the language, its dialect and culture are explored through books, music and group discussions. Pronunciation and grammar will be emphasized and practiced with writing, speaking, reading, and listening.

We'll focus on building a strong foundation of grammar, vocabulary and making verbs work for you. Christine is a librarian, teacher, foodie, and traveler. For travelers who want to enrich their Italian experience. Develop a solid foundation through basic grammar and simple conversation. Discuss travel tips and Italian customs. Julia is a former student at the Michelangelo Institute in Florence and the Center for Italian Studies in Naples.

Marine Research at the UNH Marine Lab Fort Constitution, New Castle, NH

Located on the picturesque mouth of the Piscataqua River in NewCastle, NH the UNH Marine Lab Center supports a variety of marine-related projects and ongoing research as part of its mission for the Seacoast and the Gulf of Maine. Embark on a walking tour of the Marine Lab and it's current research projects being carried out by UNH Faculty, students, and associated scientists. Learn about lobster mating, jonah crab growth, see lumpfish and other marine creatures along the way. Bring your favorite marine biology questions for an interactive tour and discussion. Please meet at the Public Parking lot at the UNH Judd Gregg Marine Research Center.

Porstmouth Naval Shipyard: From Sails to Atoms

Portsmouth Naval Shipyard has a venerable heritage and rich tradition. Learn about its role and achievements in times of war and peace from a military historian’s perspective. The tour will begin with a presentation in the new lecture room of the Shipyard Museum, and continue with a tour of the museum and a driving tour around the perimeter of the base, including an up-close view of the prison’s exterior.

Must bring valid photo I.D. such as Driver’s License or U.S. Passport.
