Finding Purpose and Passion in the Middle Years and Beyond

Do you know someone like my eighty-eight year old friend who still works, skis and plays tennis? Many of us may not be as agile as my friend, and at times we may believe that our “day” has passed, but the middle and older years can be a time to discover new purpose, renewed dimensions of creativity and passions that satisfy the soul. Participants will have an opportunity to experience the inner wise Soul space that can ratify their passions, provide insights for creative fulfillment, and reveal Soul Wisdom for living life to the fullest. Bette Freedson is a clinical social worker, Certified Group Psychotherapist, speaker and writer. Bette’s specialties include stress management, parenting issues, recovery from trauma and the development of intuitive insight. Bette is professionally trained in clinical hypnosis and the author of Soul Mothers’ Wisdom/Seven Insights for the Single Mother published by Pearlsong Press.

Health RYTHYMS Drum Circle - Group Empowerment Drumming

Come and join the fun!No experience necessary! Great for Stress-Reduction, Exercise, Self-Expression, Camaraderie, Nurturing, Fun! We will use a variety of drums including West African djembe, North African Tar, Native American drums as well as various rhythm making instruments.  Jeanne will supply the instruments but you are welcome to bring your own.Jeanne Russell is a registered teacher through the Yoga Alliance (R.Y.T.) and has been teaching yoga to adults and children since 1989. She is also the director of Music Together® of Portsmouth and has been teaching the program since 1998.

Walking with Poles for Exercise & Balance

Let’s get outside and enjoy the warmer weather! Burn 40% more calories, gain balance, and reduce joint strain by walking with poles. Nordic Walking is a smart physical outdoor activity with maximum health benefits for old and young. This private workshop offers the ultimate in flexibility to get introduced to Nordic walking whenever it is best given your hectic schedule, and go home with your own set of poles to keep. Take the class alone or with a friend but you choose the time that works for you. Whether you are an active walker or someone recovering from joint replacement in need of more balance, this is a great introductory session to get you out walking with more caloric burn and confidence. Upon registration Lauren will contact you to set up a date/time and walking location of your preference.

Course Fee: $99 pp, cost includes 1 ½ hours of instruction plus a pair of walking poles to keep. Bring a friend or two for an additional fee of $59 pp (includes poles to keep). *Please call Adult Ed. 207-439-5896 to register additional person.
