Join ecomaine’s environmental educator, Lena Ives, to learn how your household waste is turned into renewable energy and what you can do to further reduce the space your household’s waste is taking up in landfills. Interested in transitioning into a clean energy future? Join John Werner, a Kittery resident, to learn about his first-hand solar experience of installing a 14-panel solar system on his home. John will present the benefits he is enjoying from his solar experience as well as the costs.  He will be joined by Ethan Schechter, a solar designer from ReVision Energy, a NE company who for the past 15 years has focused on the mission of transferring the region away from a fossil fuel-based economy towards a sustainable economy.  This is virtual only, you will be sent a ZOOM link.

"Kiss The Ground": How Changing Our Growing Practices Can Affect Climate Change

Kiss the Ground is a full-length documentary narrated by Woody Harrelson that sheds light on a “new, old approach” to farming called “regenerative agriculture” that has the potential to balance our climate, replenish our water supplies, and feed the world.

Join Kittery Adult Education and Kittery Land Trust for an online screening of this fantastic film, followed by a panel discussion about how local farmers - including those who will be growing crops at KLT's Nooney Farm - are using regenerative techniques to improve the health of soil and foods they produce.

This is virtual only, you will be sent a ZOOM link. We will view the educational cut (approx. 45 mnts) of the film over ZOOM, followed by a discussion.

With Earth Day approaching, are you thinking about how you can reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions to preserve the planet in the future?  You are invited to an Electric/Hybrid vehicle event to learn about the advantages and considerations of EV/Hybrid ownership.    Learn from area Electric and Hybrid Car owners about their experience.  Get your questions answered re: charging stations, EV Warranty Program, maintenance, etc. Class will meet at the parking lot of Traip Academy.
